Shakira will release new studio album later this year.

Shakira’s as-yet untitled album is reportedly due out in October and is rumored to feature contribution from super producers Pharrell Williams and Red One. “Loba (She Wolf)” is the lead single and in my opinion it sounds absolutely amazing.

The 70s disco-inspired track is a new direction for Shakira, but she manages to retain her signature sound and unique vocals. I also like the fact that it’s been released in Spanish. According to fan forums, the Spanish as well as the English version will be available on iTunes July 14th!

Latin superstar - Shakira - is going to be featured on the next edition of New York Times magazine!

In the article, writer Scott Malcomson recalls a plane ride from Miami to San Salvador where he joined the Colombian singer-songwriter, as well as Spanish pop crooner Alejandro Sanz, on their to an Ibero-American summit meeting where the stars were to speak on the importance of early childhood development to Latin American leaders.

The piece touches on some facets of Shakira’s public and private life, including her quirks, childhood and rise to fame but the focus stays on the cause she’s most passionate about: educating children.

Shakira speaks of her work with the ALAS (wings in Spanish) foundation which she co-founded, UNICEF, and the future projects of her Pies Descalzos (Barefeet) Foundation including an updating on the school the organization built in her hometown of Barranquilla. Malcomson’s case in point: while the hip-shaking superstar looks like most philanthropist stars on the surface, her case is unique.

“Celebrity philanthropy, rock ’n’ roll philanthropy, is no longer a novelty, but what Shakira and ALAS were trying was indeed new.” Malcomson says. “They were looking to use the power of pop to help the populations not of distant impoverished lands but of the Ibero-American world from which they come.”

The ALAS Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Shakira, Sanz and other artists, intellectuals and business leaders advocating the importance of early childhood development. Colombia’s Piez Descalzos Foundation was founded by Shakira that aims to aid impoverished children.

International singing star, Shakira, has been given a werewolf makeover to front a new viral campaign for her comeback single and album.

The push for the forthcoming single, She Wolf, is being spearheaded by a website,  shewolfiscoming.com. It has the appearance of a highly produced blog  from the She Wolf hunter, which appears to catalogue sightings of the mysterious creature around the world.

She’s a killer - as a series of videos show on a dedicated YouTube channel  - youtube.com/user/SheWolfHunter.

Again, it’s hosted by the hunter, who says, “I have devoted my life to hunting the She Wolf. There has been more sightings recently than I have seen in years. This site has been created to share information on She Wolf and its whereabouts.”

The debut video entitled, ‘She Wolf Claims First Victim in NYC’ appears to show a visitor to the city on a tourist bus capturing a kill on camera. It has been viewed more than 20,000 times.

Other videos claim to capture sightings in Brazil.

It’s a long-lead campaign with the single not being released until June 29, according to reports.

The album, the Columbian singer-songwriter’s first in four years since ‘Oral Fixation’, is expected to be released on September 25, 2009.

Shakira is the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time, having sold more than 60 million albums worldwide.

“We do not just owe our only and great Vallenato Festival to master Escalona, but also the hundreds of magical histories, like those of Garcia Marquez; about loves, people and the travels that are the pride of our country,” she continued.

“Master Escalona, with his composition ‘Elegia a Jaime Molina’, dedicated his natural inspiration to his friend who died. Now every single Colombian must give a song of eternal memory to immortalize his work,” the singer said.

Shakira was to come to Dilli for a performance at a charity event at the end of this month. But, ab aisa nahi ho raha!

We turned to Abhinav, who’d sent an invite to the star, to know more. “Everything was finalised, but then, we had to cancel the show, ’coz of some problems with the dates,” he said, adding, “But, we’ll soon try and make it possible.”

And, till that happens, Abhinav is busy with his shooting practice. “I am training under a new coach from South Africa,” he said.

Colombian super-star singer Shakira created a flurry of excitement among her fans with the revelation that she will launch her first single of her much anticipated next album on the internet.

The single “Nunca” will be launched from her official website on April 20.

Her next album does not have an official title or launch date yet. However she is rumored to have worked with Madonna, Calle 13 and Pharrel Williams for the album.

Shakira has extended her generosity to more than just her fans. The singer recently donated several outfits to be auctioned for charity on eBay.

According to a Colombian Tv Station, former american president - Bill Clinton - donated a whopping amount of money to the latin singer foundation.

Televisa Espectáculos reports that he gave big $2 million to Fundacion Pies Descalzos in order to help it with its nutritional programs to help youths in Columbia.

Finally some new story to report!

Former America presiden - Mr. Bill Clinton - visted Shakira school this last sunday.

The American president arrived at the Barranquilla in Colombia so he could pay a visit to the school the star made to help disadvantaged children in her home towns.

The school is named Pies Descalzos and is around 620 miles (around 1000) kilometers in north of Bogata, Columbia.

Clinton was there to take a look at how this fundation is supporting the nutrition of 1600 kids, and to join another benefits gala aswell.

Well, Shakira must be taking some time off!

Due to the lack of news, or performances, we really think she might be taking some vacation time at her farm in argentina.
