International singing star, Shakira, has been given a werewolf makeover to front a new viral campaign for her comeback single and album.
The push for the forthcoming single, She Wolf, is being spearheaded by a website, shewolfiscoming.com. It has the appearance of a highly produced blog from the She Wolf hunter, which appears to catalogue sightings of the mysterious creature around the world.
She’s a killer – as a series of videos show on a dedicated YouTube channel – youtube.com/user/SheWolfHunter.
Again, it’s hosted by the hunter, who says, “I have devoted my life to hunting the She Wolf. There has been more sightings recently than I have seen in years. This site has been created to share information on She Wolf and its whereabouts.”
The debut video entitled, ‘She Wolf Claims First Victim in NYC’ appears to show a visitor to the city on a tourist bus capturing a kill on camera. It has been viewed more than 20,000 times.
Other videos claim to capture sightings in Brazil.
It’s a long-lead campaign with the single not being released until June 29, according to reports.
The album, the Columbian singer-songwriter’s first in four years since ‘Oral Fixation’, is expected to be released on September 25, 2009.
Shakira is the highest-selling Colombian artist of all time, having sold more than 60 million albums worldwide.
